Registrations are being sought for the summer 2017 session of the IP Landscaping, and Patent Analytics course I developed for the Masters Program in IP Management and Markets at the Illinois Institute of Technology. The course will begin on May 22nd and the description is below:
For many years, decision makers operated based on personal networks and intuition. With the institution of patent analytics and PLRs, it is possible for these critical decisions to be made with data-driven approaches that deliver informed choices and lower risk profiles. Working with patent data can be complicated due to the nature of the subject matter and the lack of standard in the way it is delivered from the offices that generate it. Best practices for working with patent data and performing patent analytics for organizational decision making will be covered in detail. Specific steps for the generation of patent landscape reports will also be covered.
The class was developed and will be taught by Prof. Anthony Trippe of Patinformatics, LLC. Professor Trippe is a recognized expert in patent analysis. The class is a graduate level course taking place over 12 weeks. The class will include interactive work and discussion with the Professor and classmates. The course is open to all on an audit (no academic credit) basis. Students interested in academic credit, may apply to the Masters Program in IP Management and Markets at the Illinois Institute of Technology (http://ipmm.iit.edu)
The course is part of IIT’s Master Program in IP Management and Markets, one of the few programs in the world specialized in educating IP Strategists, Managers and Practitioners in the rapidly growing field of IP portfolio management.
