Anthony J. Trippe Appointed Adjunct Professor of Intellectual Property Management and Markets

Anthony Trippe, Managing Director, Patinformatics, LLC has been appointed Adjunct Professor of Intellectual Property Management and Markets at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in their Masters of IP Management & Markets Program.

Mr. Trippe will be acting as subject matter expert, and professor for the online version of IPMM 508 – Patent Tools and Analytics. A new course offering in the Masters of IP Management & Markets Program.

The master’s in intellectual property management and markets at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) is the first degree program in the country to provide a foundational understanding of intellectual property that integrates perspectives and skills from five key disciplines: Business, Computer science, Design, Engineering and Law.

The Technology Commercialization Office at IIT works with University researchers and their colleagues to find opportunities to move IIT innovations from the laboratory to industry. IIT has particular expertise in energy storage and management, medical device development, digital manufacturing, printing technology for manufacture of electronic components and chemical process technology.

A thorough understanding of patent analytics is essential for success in this field, and I am pleased that IIT has asked me to develop, and teach this portion of the curriculum.”

Mr. Trippe is Managing Director of Patinformatics, LLC, a top advisory firm providing patent strategy, and analytics services to corporations, patent offices, and patent information vendors. Tony is an influential thought leader in the patent analysis space, has been named one of the Top 300 IP Strategists by IAM Magazine, and was tasked by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to author Guidelines for the Preparation of Patent Landscape Reports.
